Ponce Inlet Proposed Working Waterfront
The owners of the 16 acres on Front Street in Ponce Inlet are hopeful that someday it could be developed into a mixed use working waterfront with restaurants, residences, boat storage and some light retail. The property is adjacent to Down the Hatch restaurant in town. The Johnsons, owners of the property, are looking ahead to settling the dispute with the town council, which has been ongoing for years. Residents of the town are split on the project, some would like to keep Ponce just the way it is now, with no more development yet others see that some additional light commercial property would benefit the town in revenue and moving on with the times.
