Wilbur-By-The-Sea is abuzz today after it was announced that Boondocks Restaurant and the 137 slip Adventure Yacht Harbor marina have been sold.
The new owners, Cheryl and Charlie Roach purchased the property for $1.55 Million from Centurian Capital after Centurian foreclosed on the property owned by Mark May. The Roaches plan no major changes other than a good cleaning, some sprucing up and perhaps some cosmetic upgrading. The staff will remain with long time Harbor Master Jim Boren.
Uncertainty as to the future of the marina drove some slip tenants away in recent years and the Roaches now welcome them back as the 25 acre property now has a bright future.

Ponce Inlet Restaurants
For folks visiting Ponce Inlet and looking for a place to have lunch or dinner, Ponce has a great collection of funky, off beat ocean or riverside dining spots.
Racing's North Turn:
Direct oceanfront and a virtual museum of the history of NASCAR. Racing's North Turn is actually located on the north turn of old race course in the 40's and 50's where automobile racing matured. The original (pre) NASCAR races ran down the pavement on Atlantic Ave and then turned onto the beach and northward on the sand of the beach. Racing's North Turn Restaurant offers true oceanfront dining on a large outdoor deck,(indoor dining too) live, local entertainment many nights of the week and numerous TV's to catch all the games. Racing's North Turn is as close to a NASCAR museum as you can get and add in great entertainment and delicious food.
Inlet Harbor Restaurant:
A casual dining experience on the Intracoastal Waterway. A tropical, casual experience with an all-weather torch lit deck. Live music many nights of the weeks, from single artists to full bands on weekends. You'll find casual dining on the deck and a full restaurant inside, fresh seafood is their specialty and fun is all around including a pirate ship playground for the kids, a gift shop, fishing charters, full service marina, and a great fishing pier.
Down The Hatch Restaurant:
Originally a Trading Post in 1881 and then a "Fish Camp", Down the Hatch has evolved into one of Ponce Inlet's coolest gathering spots. Live entertainment, casual and fine dining on the shores of the Halifax River (Intracoastal Waterway) and a full service marina including transient dockage make "The Hatch" one of Ponce's hottest spots. The gift shop, bait and tackle shop and fishing charters make Down the Hatch more than just a great restaurant.
Lighthouse Landing:
Enjoy dining in the shadow of the Historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse at the southern most point of Ponce Inlet. Quirky and Unique describe this experience, overlooking the Inlet and across to New Smyrna Beach. There's plenty of boating activity to watch, Jet-Ski rentals, deep sea fishing charters, para-sailing and a full service marina next door. Dining is casual with a full service bar and very unique atmosphere.
Jerry's Pizza and Tiki Bar:
Everything Italian in a casual, family dining atmosphere. Pizza is the best and other Italian dishes are very delicious. The Tiki Bar is through the door outside and open year-round serving great drinks, tables are under thatched roofs, lush greenery, tiki lamps everywhere...all in a very Caribbean atmosphere. Jerry's is a great "locals" hang out with live music weekends and every "event week". Jerry's is right off Atlantic Ave next to the Kangaroo Convenience store.
These festive restaurants contribute to the atmosphere of Ponce. Please don't let the newly appointed mayor take away the live music which is their livelihood. Let's all be sure to sign the petition to keep the music in Ponce Inlet's restaurants. Petitions are at each location. Thanks for your help..
