Biketoberfest 2011 in Daytona Beach

The bike enthusiasts are here!  Biketoberfest starts tomorrow, Thursday, October 13 and runs through October 16th.  How many bikers are expected for this year's festivities?  125,000!

Marconi Day at the Lighthouse in Ponce Inlet, Florida

Saturday, October 8th from 10 - 2,  visit the Ponce DeLeon Lighthouse as they honor Guglielmo Marconi, the father of wireless telegraphy (radio telegraph). Ponce Inlet Grant Received

Did you know that Ponce Inlet received a grant of just under $20,000 from the State Division of Forestry?  Yes, they did!!  One Hundred and Fourteen Trees have and/or will be planted at various locations.. Genre of trees include sabal palms, hollies, weeping yaupons, upright yaupons and 3 red cedars.  The Sabal Palm is the State tree.
